Summer Shorts is a good collection of short stories for middle grade readers. This is a book a boy or a girl can pick up and read for fun. I highly recommend it for schools and libraries as well as parents looking for books for their sons or daughters of 4th grade up through middle school.

When I was a kid, I loved books that contained a variety of poems and short stories--and this one is a winner, especially with the summery theme! Kids (and their parents) can read whatever selection strikes their fancies. From Kim Campbell's opening poem until the last line, SUMMER SHORTS offers a delightful variety of reading.
