Sun Tzu's text on warfare is here applied to investing and trading. The book offers insight and broad practical guidelines for trading in the financial markets, and is aimed at traders and investors... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I'm somewhat surprised by the negative reviews on this book. Maybe it's not a perfect interpretation of the Art of War....so what. Maybe there are not a lot of words or text.....you're probably right. And maybe it's not worth [$$$] to some....it's the words on the paper, not the paper. But for an active investor who doesn't need more information but needs to regain their discipline, adaptability, money management, and risk management skills, this can be a very good read.I'm not one to blast other authors or think that there's a lot of money in writing books because it takes a lot of time and effort with little chance of reward to produce these books. But hostile reviewers can be a tremendous disservice. In this case, this book deserves better. You can argue with the packaging, but the message is clearly right on. And in the area of investing and trading, this is what you truly want.I happily spent the money and reread it every year.
Well worth the small investment

I picked this book up in a basement of a London second hand bookshop for £3.95. The reading part only took a few hours, but it's a little gem !. Not only did I get it for a knock down price but, after acting on it's ideas it saved me even more !.Go for it, it may not be a philosophical masterpiece, but it sure helps get the job done.

This book is a little gem. It is a clear and concise summary of the strategies and tactics that are necessary for trading success. Mr. Lundell has translated and adapted the ancient wisdom of Sun Tzu into a workable trading methodology for today's markets. As a non-professional trader for many years, I have thought that there has been too little written about trading psychology and methodology. This book does much to fill that void. It remains a viable trading discipline which I often reference.
Finally, found a simple book on trading psychology

Great book. When I get into "freeze mode", to buy or sell or hold, plan to open the book and read appropriate page(s) to put me back on track. Between this book and Douglas book, I've got a great collection. Thanks Mr. Dean for your good work. This book is a keeper near you when the market is open.

Short, sweet, and to the point. Dean Lundell has written a fantastic investment book based on the time tested wisdom of Sun Tzu's Art of War. Lundell applies Sun Tzu's battle tactics to trading the financial markets, which is certainly a battle in it's own right. Each page offers an excerpt from Art of War followed by Lundell's comparisons to investing. The book is smooth reading since no page is more than a paragraph long; he gets to the point! Lundell's 20 plus years in the securities business and his experience as a Vietnam veteran give him a unique perspective on applying military principles to the financial markets. Make room for it in your financial library, this one's a keeper! TR Pitts.
