Good text. I'm using it for a class where I'm doing an integrated literature review in prep for my dissertation. It is very systematic in its approach.

Among the various works on doing a synthetic literature review, I found this book to be the most informative for its size. All essential aspects seem to be well-covered. The much larger work co-edited by the same author only adds detailed treatment of statistical issues. The only drawback to the book is that it is written in the extremely dense prose preferred by psychology professors. If the style of psych journals puts you to sleep, you may prefer the similar work by Fink.
