A well plotted mystery, taut and suspenseful. The characters are well drawn and the story unfolds, twists and builds to a riveting conclusion. When it was over I literally breathed a sigh of relief. The setting is England and the Cote d'Azur in the Roaring Twenties. The novel is a richly woven tapesty detailing the lives of its characters through the eyes of Geoffrey Staddon, the architect of Clouds Frome. This is my first novel by Robert Goddard. I'm looking forward to the next one.
