Excellent book on planning any trip with your family

I read this book when I was starting to plan a trip for our family and I am really glad that I was lucky enough to start with this one. There are some specifics for different countries (England, France, etc) which are extremely helpful for finding appropriate activities for families, but the most helpful section is the more general information on planning a trip. How to pack for different types of travel, how to negotiate an itinerary and what are reasonable expectations. This book gave me the courage to plan a fantastic trip for our family myself and we had a great time.
Go to Europe with the help you need!

Harriman does a great job spelling Europe out... how it really is. I especially like the "Totally Biased" reports on areas at the end of the book. I was also grateful for some money saving tips. Harriman says that the book is not for those who have the money to come back and try it all again next summer and that certainly is not us! This is the "Once in a life time" help we needed. We have 5 kids, and 7 in Europe seemed like an impossible dream, but we did it! Why only 4 stars? It is a good book that admitted that it needed to be paired with other travel books. I wish there was a good travel book with kids (and kids at heart) in mind. We do use and like Rick Steves books.
