Extremely helpful guide to overcoming fear of flying

This is an excellent book. Written by a psychologist, the book addresses the fact that it is your thinking which is causing your fear of flying. Rather than just stating the 'objective' fact that flying is the safest form of travel, which is of no use to a fearful flyer, the book explains the mechanics of flight, discusses relaxation techniques and ways to correct your negative thinking about flying. I found each of these elements very effective - I had not previously thought that finding out how planes fly or how to relax would help but they do. I had not been on a flight for four years before I read this book - I have since taken two holidays by plane and am planning to go to the USA later this year.
