Serves equally well as a clear introduction and a handy reference, with a chapter on the history of the Tarot, Tarot symbolism (including a convenient list of what paricular numbers signify), extended notes on each of the Major Arcana cards, information about the Minor Arcana, instructions on how to do different spreads, and a chapter called "Tarot and Self-Development."There are black-and-white illustrations of all 78 cards, taken from the popular and fairly representative Rider-Waite deck. (Other features are a bibliography & glossary.)The layout is clear, the content excellent. It doesn't have everything, by a long shot, but it has all you need to get started (except an actual, physical deck ;-), and the more experienced will still find it a useful reference. If you have any interest in Tarot, you'll want to get this book
