I like this book. I know its not for "serious study", but it has held my interest longer than other Japanese study books and software programs I have tried over the years. If you follow the directions and study each short conversation every day for 45 min, you will learn something useful after 6 weeks.This book concentrates only on spoken Japanese. Fortunately it doesn't waste too much time on the super-formal / extra polite type of Japanese that I have seen in too many books. You can really use the Japanese in this book in everyday conversation.
