This was a great buy, and the book was in good condition. However, I ended up not needing the book. I wasn't able to send it back in the time frame for returns either. But all is well! Overall, it was a great quality book and a good company to work with! :)

This book is an excellent resource for all special education teachers. I especially recomment it for new teachers because it basically covers, in depth, the information that a first year teacher needs to organize their classroom, implement programs for facilitating teaching (e.g. peer tutoring, setting up reading and math programs, etc.). It is a very challenging because of the amount of information covered. It teaches approaches to language arts and math (e.g. a concrete, representational, abstract approach to teaching math). It encourages and discusses ways to make teaching a more hands on approach to learning. I love it!
A must have for serious special educators!

I have always used Cecil's book in my own research in developing materials. It is written clearly, is regularly updated, and presents sound thinking for special educators. If you work with students with learning and/or behavioral problems, this book is essential.

I used this book in one of my methods classes in college. It is a wonderful book and I am so glad I have it. I highly recommend it to new teachers. It provides insight and activities for teaching students reading, writing, math, and social skills. This is not a book of theory--it is definitely a methods book. This book also includes one of the most important things a teacher could ever want--a scope and sequence list in the appendix. This book also provides Learning Strategies (COPS, TOWER, and others).
