(Unlike another reviewer, I had no trouble with my binding. But even if I had, it would not cause me to give the book itself a bad review. I don't see what the binding had to do with the material presented.) I read this book for a class in graduate school, and found it to be very informative, very comprehensive, and very well presented. This is also not a book for whimps. It's well written, and goes a very long way to make a complicated subject more understandable BUT the authors do assume that you are an active reader. If you're looking for a short-cut or cheat-sheet through t his type of material, this is not the book for you. However, if you are looking for an excellent publication that gives a good overview, this is a good choice for you. In fact, when my course was over, I elected not to resell my copy. I'm keeping it in my library because it is an excellent reference source!
