Dark secrets and unspoken suspicions come between Zoey and Stevie Rae, putting their friendship - and the House of Night - at risk. After Zoey Redbird and her gang have banished Kalona and Neferet, the fallen High Priestess, from Tulsa, you'd think they'd catch a break. But with Zoey and her sexy Warrior Stark both recovering from a brush with death, and the fledglings struggling to deal with the fallout from Neferet's reign of terror, a break is just not in the forecast. Zoey is haunted by her confusing yet elemental connection with A-ya, the ancient Cherokee maiden who was the only human able to tempt Kalona's body and soul. How will A-ya's pull on her affect Zoey's ability to resist the dangerously seductive immortal? Meanwhile, Stevie Rae, with her super red vamp powers, always thought she could handle the stuff she's been keeping from her BFF. But the mysterious, threatening force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading; Stevie Rae won't confide where she's been and what she's doing, and Zoey is beginning to wonder just how much she can trust the person she always thought would have her back. Will their choices destroy them and will darkness consume the House of Night?
Hooked from the first page. I loved how the story played out through this book and I can't wait to read the next one!

Great vampire series if you love the twilight series...This one is about a bunch of teenagers with a different take on becoming a vampyre. Great banter and scary villians. Written for teenagers and young adults, but this old middle age woman likes it too.
Amazing Amazing Amazing

I dont understand how all these people can make these awful comments about the book.....it was amazing so what if she has boy issues and she says things that are immature sometimes that is who Zoey Redbird is that is how the book goes!!!! All i have to say to the readers of the House of Night series if you loved the 1st 5 books you will love all the books. If you are someone who is annoyed by zoey and didnt like the 5th book as well as this one then dont read them they are not for you. This book is just as amazing as the 5 before it and they will continue to get even better!!! I am a true fan of The House of Night book series and of Zoey Redbird even with all her boy drama and "bullpoopie"!!!! LOL!!
loved it...again

I loved this book, just like the other House of Night books. I do wish that they would be more climactic and not just leaving me jonesing for the next one.

I have loved this series since book one and I'm happy to say the authors didn't disappoint... While I prefer the book being from Zoey's point of view, it was interesting to get inside of Stevie Rae's head a little bit. It made me wonder if they are contemplating a spin-off series with Stevie Rae being the main character. The suspense was still there, but not quite as dramatic as it's been in the other House of Night books. In Tempted, we're allowed to see a little more of the characters' personalities instead of leaping from one action packed scene to the next. The pace was a little slower than the other novels, but I didn't feel it detracted from the story in any way. While I won't spoil the ending for you, I have to admit I wanted to growl in frustration. Talk about a cliff hanger! It may drive me crazy to wait for the next House of Night book just so I can see where the story goes next... Jessica -- The Novel Blog -- [...]
I liked it - Still Going Strong

I enjoyed this book every bit as much as the others in the series. The shifts in the point of view (different from the others being written from only Zoey's perspective) worked fine for me. Actually, it was kind of enjoyable. I did not find the story disjointed or a disappointment - it worked find for me (althoug I do wonder if the authors watched the Buffy series one time too many). I was a little worried that Aphrodite had reverted to her old self, but no - she was the same improved version with the same relationships with Zoey and the others. Reading the reviews, I find it a little odd that others were so disappointed. I suppose I am not literary enough to care much about what they they found as flaws, but I am economical enough to buy the next one... J Reed
