Love pointing to the lady bugs. Counting and telling colors. Pointing out animals or bugs on pages. Very interactive. Great.

One of my (13 mos. old) daughter's favorite books! The illustrations are beautiful and she loves "counting" the ladybugs.

My parents sent this book to our then-14-month-old son for Christmas last year. From the first reading (on Christmas morning) to now (he will be two years old next month), he has loved this book! The illustrations are stunning! It is one of his favorites and never fails to occupy his attention. I read it to him in Spanish while my husband 'reads' it to him in German (his native language) and through this past year, our son has learned to identify and say the words for the bee, the fish, the butterfly, a few numbers and even the ladybugs (mariquitas). In addition, we travel internationally at least twice a year and this is the book we have taken on our 10 hour+ flights with him to read during 'down' times.
Great counting / Spanish book

My children have really enjoyed this book. They love to touch and count the little three-dimensional mariquitas/ladybugs. The spanish dialog on each page is not too long so my husband (who doesn't speak Spanish) can still read it to the kids without too much difficulty. I highly recommend it.

This is the most jazzed-up version possible of the classic rhyme about ladybugs!So here's the scoop: Ten Little Ladybugs is a board book with bright red, yellow and orange plastic ladybugs permanently embedded into the ten pages (and they each have a variety of spots, just like ladybugs do in real life). Each page has carefully placed cutouts so that when you turn it, the ladybug on that page disappears but the others appear to move to the next spread. What you end up with is a clever rhyming book that teaches simple subtraction with three-dimensional ladybugs.This book is sturdy, colorful and well-made. The ladybugs show no signs of falling off even after two years of being explored by curious little fingers. My children love the novelty of it and request it again and again. Ten Little Ladybugs was given to my son as a gift when he was 6 mo old. Since then (he is 10 mo. now) my husband and I read it to him at least 5x a day! In a pile of books he will search and recover this book without hesitation. He loves turning the pages, the bright colors, and of course touching those adorable ladybugs!!! This is now a staple gift for all my friends having babys!
