With Marian and Jim Harris's Ten Little Puppies, Accord presents the first follow-up to its #1 best-selling title, Ten Little Dinosaurs, which has sold more than a million copies. Continuing Accord's successful Eyeball Animation series, Ten Little Puppies is written in the same lyrical style as the popular Ten in the Bed childhood nursery rhyme; however, the sing-song narrative and full-color illustrations inside this title are even more engaging and entertaining. From sausage-like Dachshunds and polka-dotted Dalmatians to sledding Huskies and pink bow-adorned Yorkies, readers are likely to find their own family's dog breed presented within the canine countdown.

I am a Kindergarten teacher, and my students LOVE "Ten Little Dinosaurs." In fact they are often fighting over whose turn it is to read it! When I saw this book, I knew I had to get it. The book is absolutely adorable. The illustrations are so cute. The rhymes are great. I really like the fact that several breeds of dogs are used and not only is their name given, but also a nickname. I think this book may even be better than "Ten Little Dinosaurs." If you are a parent or a teacher, your kids will LOVE this book! It is definitely a must for every library. The kids will love it, but they can also learn from it too.
My kids love it

I am glad I got this book for my kids. It is written by the same authors who did the Ten Little DInosaurs book. I have not read that one since "we" (my girls) don't like dinosaurs. But we love puppies and have been asking for a puppy so I thought the book would be received well. It is written in the style of the story of Ten Little Monkeys but uses different breeds of puppies doing other activities. The 5 yr old really enjoyed it and the 2 yr old kept trying to poke the googly eyes on the book in. It kept them engaged and happy and that is always a plus.
TEN LITTLE REASONS TO BUY THIS BOOK!

Based on the poem "Ten Little Indians", this is a charming book that is, I think, even batter than Marian Harris's classic Ten little Dinosaurs. The cover alone is inviting to children of all ages as who wouldn't love those big brown eyes? The author takes the Indian Poem and just creates a new story with different kinds of puppies. There are all kinds of dogs doing all kinds of things--using all different breeds of dogs, including my favorite the dachshunds, the dogs do some really fun things like steal cookie and hunt bears so that children will delight not only with the lyrical sound of the words but the puppy antics and the colorful, engaging illustrations done by Jim Harris. There are so many wonderful characters in the backgrounds that little ones especially will have a wonderful time "finding" all that you ask them to find. I love the book and highly recommend it.
Absolutely adorable - fun for kids.

I've had a copy of the author's previous book, "Ten Little Dinosaurs" in my library for years, and it's been popular with kids of all ages, first for the hook of the big googly eyes adorning the cover, as well as the inventive, funny pictures within that are built around them. My "Dinosuars" book has been so loved, that it's falling to pieces now, so I was thrilled that the authors had created another book along the same lines. Built around the framework of the classic "Ten Little Indians" poem, the authors have adapted it to feature several different breeds of dogs, all doing crazy things, from hunting bears to stealing cookies, while mice, mailmen, pirates, and more cavort in the background. Marian Harris' poem is funny and appealing to more than just small children, while Jim Harris' bright and zany paintings keep the reader searching the page for new things to see. Just to show you how popular these books are - I had just unwrapped the book, and a whole group of sixth-graders crowded around, wanting to check it out! Howzzat for broad appeal?
