Great for a classroom, not home enrichment

I bought this for home enrichment activities for my son. He is in 4th grade and is in the gifted program and I like to give him extended activities at home because the school does not provide enough challenge for the higher achieving students. Anyhow, this book is definitely more for classroom use, as most activities are geared towards a group of students, not an individual. There are also items needed you may not have readily available at home but that a teacher would have in a classroom. Looks like I will be giving this book to my son's teacher with hope he uses it in class. If you are looking for enrichment for a single child or students, I would recommend "Critical & Creative Thinking Activities" by the same publisher. The activities in those are great, and I really enjoy seeing my son's completed work.
A great book to own as a teacher

As a 5th grade teacher, I have already used many activities in this book that my children have really enjoyed. So far, their favorite is the dictionary type activities. I noticed the second week of school that my students struggled on finding words in a dictionary. Like really struggled. I pulled out 3 activities from this book. The guide word giggles which we did first, Dictionary Duos, and then Dictionary Wars. My kids were begging me to keep going by the end (we played in teams to win). They are very fast finding words now which is wonderful for them as well as me!!
