A pharmaceutical "whistleblower" is murdered. Within hours, Health Commissioner, Dr. Jonathan Rogers is shot after interviewing with the President of the United States for the position of U.S. Surgeon General. Rogers awakens from surgery with a shocking medical finding and soon discovers that he's been targeted by a sinister cult known, inexplicably, as The Health Club.A nightmarish scheme, hatched by a ruthless club of top ranking governmental officials, corporate officers and practicing physicians in key positions of authority, to unleash a deadly drug threatens the lives of thousands.Rogers is given a life or death ultimatum by The Health Club. His family will die if he tries to stop them from covering up a mass murder. But, if he looks the other way, he achieves his dream of becoming the U.S. Surgeon General and his family is spared. What choice does he make? Can he trust The Health Club if he chooses to make a pact with the devil? In Terminal Neglect, it's never a question of whether the Health Club will kill. It's only a matter of whether anyone is willing to risk sacrificing their life and those closest to them to dare to stop their wicked march for insatiable greed and cold-blooded power.
"Terminal Neglect" is a classic medical thriller through and through, suspenseful and well written with characters that are so real that you almost feel like you are there with them. Dr. Michael Rushnak brings us into the dark world of pharmaceuticals, politics and profits. As a physician myself, I appreciate realism in medical thrillers and this one was right on the money. "Terminal Neglect" captures what can happen when rogue industry giants are paired with corrupt politics. The book is centered on Dr. Jonathan Rogers, state commissioner of health. His trouble begins shortly after he makes it clear that he is not willing to play ball with any politician willing write a legislative blank check to the pharmaceutical giants. The good doctor is shot, driven off the road and has his daughter kidnapped and the action doesn't end until the end. I enjoyed the tightly written plot which was bathed realism. It would not have surprised me to have seen this story on 60 minutes. I can't wait to see where Michael Rushnak takes us next

Terminal Neglect is a great read. It is a page turner from start to finish. Dr. Rushnak has turned his characters into real life. They come complete with believable weaknesses, emotions & courage that one would expect from everyday people. I find myself wondering if there really is a Health Club. Reading this book made a very long trip to Asia seem quick.

Dr. Rushnak's Terminal Neglect is a stunning new work. It's frightening and gripping. It combines a complex, tightly woven plot with a very disturbing message of truth; drug companies and politics working in tandem do at times lead to unthinkable corruption. Don't miss this book. It will change how you view the world!
