My counselar referred me to any book about, "Self Parenting," due to my tumultous childhood. I am not a child of an alcoholic; however I experienced similiar upbringings of those that are. This book is great if you are coming from a background where you do not feel that sense of family, the roots that a normal/healthy family gives. I have found a lot of truth and grown much through the 12 steps in this book. If followed, healing will definately take place.
