It is filled with hard-to-come-by details about how his biological parents met; and the circumstances under which his mother, a spirited teenage girl, became pregnant by an alcoholic scoundrel. It is about his mother's hasty marriage to his adoptive step-father and their subsequent divorce soon thereafter due to her neglect.
