"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" is the first series of stories featuring the world's most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. This particular book is the 12th story of the series. Enjoy Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's imagination as you read "The Adventure of the Copper Beeches". *Matte cover with wrap-around cover art*
One day Sherlock Holmes receives a visit from a young lady describing the strange requests of a prospective employer. Watson is surprised when Holmes predicts that something ominous is behind the man's requests. But, not two weeks later, they hear again from the young lady. Something strange is going on in Hampshire, something that only Sherlock Holmes can get to the bottom of! This story was first published in Strand Magazine in June of 1892. It is a very interesting story, but a bit of a disappointment. No spoilers here, but the situation does somewhat solve itself, with Holmes merely explaining what happened. But, that said, I did enjoy the story, and think that it is a very nice part of the Holmes Canon.
