The All-American Truck Stop Cookbook - not a book for everyone but still good for some

I purchased this book because we've eaten at truck stops when traveling and the food is usually good and satisfying. I have many years of experience in preparing meals so this was a good one for me to purchase. If you don't have a lot of experience, it's probably not a good first choice when buying cookbooks. The instructions for many of the recipes are not detailed and some of the ingredients listed are not commonplace in everyone's kitchen. Most of the recipes sound good. In addition, a good many of the recipes are for very large-quantity preparation. You could cut a good number of the recipes in half and still have enough to put a couple of extra meals in your freezer. With all of the above being said, I am enjoying reading about the history of truck stops and many of the people in the industry.

I WAS LATE IN RECEIVING THIS COOKBOOK. RECEIVED IT THIS MORNING. I AM VERY SATISFIED WITH THE BOOK. LOTS OF GOOD RECIPES AND LOTS OF GOOD HUMOR. VERY INTERESTING. WOULD BE A NICE GIFT FOR ANY TRUCKER. COMING FROM A TRUE "TRUCKER" FAMILY, I GIVE THIS BOOK A TEN. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! BARBARA SPURLOCK

Many great, taste-good, feel-good recipes and some amusing anecdotes thrown in as well. A favorite at our house are the "Waffles Supreme".

I really like this book which lists recipes gathered over the years from various American truck stops. Enough to make your mouth water and your nostrils flare! From the basic to the elaborate, old home style to modern. This book will ensure that some recipes are not lost forever in these days of rapid change.
