The Amazing Name of God

It is mind boggling to realize that an infinite God would speak to a finite man Yet that is what happened. God revealed himself when He spoke to Moses. That the Lord has a name at all indicates His personal relationship with the human-race. Moses clearly felt unworthy and unprepared to answer God's call but he was God's chosen vessel to accomplish one of the most significant events in recorded history. God's name is in the present tense, not, "I WAS" but "I AM". If the universe were to cease to exist, the Lord God would live on. He doesn't need the universe, for He Himself upholds all things by his power (Job 34:14-15). He has the power of being in Himself. He is self-existent, depending on nothing else for His existence.
