Another teacher's perspective

I reviewed the book which this study guide accompanies. I do not like the book, but have found that this study guide helps my students immensely. Many of my students struggled on my test based on the book, but as soon as they started using the study guide, their grades instantly reflected it. The book is very difficult for high school students to understand, but the study guide, when used WITH the book, gives the students all the resources they need to succeed in my class and understanding the material. One issue I have is some of the questions, specifically true false and multiple choice, are poorly written and are open for interpretation.

So it turns out my AP history teacher uses the multiple choice questions from this book for our tests. This is awesome! I only wish I had ordered it sooner because now its June and all I can use it for is studying for the final. ( Which I will now ace.)

As an AP U.S. History teacher, I have noticed many students struggle as they try to get meaningful information from their history textbooks. This 13th edition Guidebook for American Pageant offers students multiple ways of getting pertinent details from the text via multiple choice, identification, map skills questions, and short essay questions. Although not exceptional, this consumable is a helpful resource for students.

The Guidebook is not a substitute for the text, but it is not designed to be. It is a good resource for those looking for review materials to help them in a course in which American Pageant is the primary text.
