In this powerful debut thriller, a fresh new voice in international suspense crafts a bold novel that crackles with a high-stakes, post-9/11 urgency and introduces maverick CIA agent Ryan Kealey. This description may be from another edition of this product.
The end was good but the book was hard to follow at points. The story was slow and choppy.
Yuk!

I'm still trying to finish this novel. This was my first venture into the writings of Britton. It shall be my last. The plot line is so encumbered in the extreme with background, color, etc. that on numerous occasions I have had to go back and reread text in order to remember what was actually happening in the story!! The actual story line is intriguing, but it is overshadowed with too much extra that adds nothing to the story.

The heart of Betrayal " The American" was exciting from start to finish. I could not put it aside and I did go back and read it a 2nd time. so as I was set up for reading the sequel "The Assassin" which again just blew me away. Andrew truly has a great knack for keeping you glued from page to page. very fast paced. very exciting. he is truly a star.It is edge of your seat reading. What all good thriller readers seek in a good book. I highly recommend it and the follow up The Asassin and The Invisible.
A taut, fast moving thriller

Britton has delivered adventure and psychological terror in The American. It came highly recommended by one of my favorite authors Brad Thor. and it has all the right ingredients for the big screen. As Thor said " Fast. Gripping. A page turner" I did not put it down until I was finished. Then I found myself in discussion with friends and the story line. It has been a while since I was this excited about a book. I am and will recommend it. More from this young author please. I do know I will hold a space for him on my book shelf.
Great, fast paced thriller

The American is impossible to put down! Fast paced, intricate thriller which will keep you glued to your chair in this post 9/11 era. Even my husband, who much prefers history books over fiction, loved this book. Don't miss it!
