The Aroma of Magic
In a time before time when elves and dwarfs roamed the earth, Penny has been apprenticed to a cook for ten years but yearns to become a perfumer and use her magic nose to create the best love potion ever known. Suddenly, she is told she is an orphan and is sold to be the bride of a wealthy merchant who stinks. Using her wits, she cleans him up, removing the stink. Finding he owns a perfume shop, she thinks her dream is coming true. --- of course, it couldn't be that simple --- She must go to school and learn alchemy from a wizard. Other problems arise, but her friends help to solve them. One friend, Princess Lilith, claims Penny as a sister. Together, they discover a plot to take over the kingdom. Using magic, they stop the attack and save the foolish king.
