I saw the movie first and then got the book. It was great! It's just like the movie but it has some sceens cut from the movie. This book is one of my faves. I recomend this book to everyone!
Pairing Steed with Emma endangers his heart.

Kaewert's novelization is the best fictional Avengers book I have read. She skillfully provides a context- Emma, recently widowed, is determined to keep Steed at arms length. He has other intentions. The author offers insights into both characters: Emma's overachievements are due to a cold, distant father, Steed's reserve is ruffled when he begins to fall for her. Kaewert provides motivation for all of the characters: deWinter, brutalized at "public" school, remains an emotioanal child in a man's body. His obsession with Emma arouses the jealousy of two women determined to see her dead Steed and Emma's growing emotional intimacy is threatened by false accusations against Emma, kidnapping etc. The film producers should have had Kaewert help them link scenes and the script. The movie was good but the editing was horrendous. I recommend the novel to all Avengers lovers, and Kaewert's Alex Plumtree mysteries to anyone who appreciates a literary mystery.

Since I have been watching Avengers on TV ever since I can remember,I was ecstatic when I heard there was going to be a movie. However been In Hellas (where movies tend to come late)I couldnt wait and bought the Tie In.It didnt disapoint me at all. It was very well written and I finished it in one day!. The author did an excelent job. I wasnt bored one minute. And I could actually Picture the scenes in my head...HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Interesting Storyline

Written in the not so serious style of the Avengers world. As long as you don't analyze the science behind the story, it makes for a good read, especially if you grew up watching Avengers repeats as I did. If the movie stays true to the story, it should do ok!
Good Avengers storyline
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 26 years ago
The book takes the story of the Avengers and updates it into the 90's, slightly off center of course. Steed keeps his British tradition going, while Emma Peel represents the future for the service. Worth reading if you're a fan of the Avengers. If the movie stays close to the storyline, it should be worth seeing on the screen.
