"The Bag" is simply one of the best social novels ever written in America. Brilliant, electric, full of brains and intelligence, I first read it in the 70's and have read it three times since then. No novel published in the 60's can touch it. Sol Yurick is a great writer, and all of his other books, including "Fertig", and "The Warriors" are also brilliant.
