We loved it, it remains my little boy's favorite book

Battle for St. Michael's is my 10 year old son's favorite book. I have continually read it to him since kindergarten. He did a book report on it in first grade and is, right now, doing a book report on it in fourth grade! He loves it because "it is based on a true story of a long time ago." It is easy reading for young ages, and based on historical fact. Having misplaced a few copies, we currently own three! It's a great book! I love it, too!
Great history for kids

I am a homeschooling Mom living in Maryland and this was a great book to share with my children on local history. The children in the book are fictional, but the adults and the events are historically accurate. My 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter both loved the artwork and the fast-paced story. The book stays with the people of the one town and leaves the reader wondering if the town would survive the night.
