Every garden needs some extra colour at some point - whether it's to fill a gap in a border, place a hanging basket or even liven up wall with window boxes. The Bedding Plant Expert shows you the best... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I bought this book a number of year ago, and it has served me well as a professional garden designer and caregiver. The colorful layout is very nice and easy to use, and few (if any) books have specific information that this one has on the newer, more unusual annuals. However, the book does have the limitation for those of us in the USA that it is VERY British. All of the care instructions must be tempered by the fact that we are in a more extreme climate. And the book devotes a disproportionately large section to plants like sweet peas which are far more popular there than here. Also, some of the names have the more distinctly British names for crops, like Busy Lizzie for Impatiens. With the huge variety of different species currently available, don't expect to find all of the most unusual species here, either, like Million Bells. (If it is there, I don't know by what name they are calling it - goes back to the previous paragraph's issues.) All, in all, it is the best book on the subject I have seen, suitable for beginners and more advanced gardeners. However, it could stand some improvement in another edition by: 1. Having USA care instructions, and 2. Adding the latest bedding plants in the trade.
