Father Bear has had a bad year and there is so little money that the Bear family does not expect Christmas presents. But when Christmas morning comes, there ARE presents under the tree and little footprints in the flour snow around the base of the tree. The presents themselves are surprising in their simplicity. Here is a picture book that speaks to what Christmas should be. The pictures are simple and the colors muted and that fits the story perfectly. This book is destined to become one of my all-time holiday books - and I have a lot of them.
