My only complaint about this book was that it was too short. I waited too long. Brashler's book sent me back in time to the 1930s and let me enter the world of Negro League baseball, and the atmospheric writing transported me there thoroughly. I'm now going to rent the DVD, and hope it's half as good as the book. I recommend this book to anyone who's a fan of baseball history.
