This book is not just about cross-country statistics. It contains true stories of runners that being the race results to life. Many of these young runners, myself included, experienced extremely challenging life experiences - single-parent homes, poverty, and language barriers to name a few. Our love for the sport became a lifechanging journey, resulting in fond memories and lifelong friendships. Today's young runners may find themselves in similar situations. We hope they find encouragement as they read these stories and believe that this too can be successful on the cross-country course and more importantly, in their community.
