Mr. Christie writes with the passion and truth that comes from experience! His ability to put you into the life of a young Marine Corps platoon commander is outstanding. The humor, tension and insanity that comes with the Marine Corps way of life and close combat are gripping. This was an excellent page turner from start to finish. I predict that Mr. Christie will find himself mentioned in the same breath as Webb and Coonts in the not to distant future. Semper Fi

I have been out of the Corps for some twenty years, but Mr. Christie's, "The Blood We Shed", quickly brought back a flood of memories - some sad, many proud. It is a great read that is filled with numerous outrageously funny and witty insights."The Blood We Shed" is one of those rare reads that makes me laugh out loud and occasionally reach for a Kleenex to wipe a tear. I enjoyed it so much, I am buying several copies to send to my Corps buddies. Semper Fi!
What an Ending!

William Christie provides an enlightening account of how we prepare our men and women to go to war...humorous anecdotes and behind-the-scenes crises highlight the road that this ecclectic bunch of individuals takes to become the "team" necessary when it counts the most. Explosive ending that really brings the whole book together and makes you reflect on the daily sacrifices of our military members and their families. A great read!
