This book is full of personal journal entries, actual pages in his handwriting, which at times can be difficult to make out. An insightful read, I felt a sense of understanding with him, starting off poor before the Libertines albums. Being in love with Kate Moss, his feeling about life and poetry. Easy to tell that he is a good person, struggling with drug addiction. The press intruding upon him and putting all this unnecessary pressure on him. Pete is a sensitive person who loves to be in a relationship and loves to be loved. His lyrics are proof of his talent and his feelings and honesty.

Insights and musings

This personal and engrossing journal is a collection of insights and musings from the poet/pariah Pete Doherty, lead singer of the British rock band Babyshambles (and formerly of the legendary Libertines). It provides a true devotee a view inside the mind of the troubled troubadour. At times poetic, at times rambling, the prose is like a labyrinth in which you are happy to be lost.
