THE NEW CHILLING, PROPULSIVE NOVEL FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE INSTANT NEW YORK TIMES AND USA TODAY BESTSELLING BEHIND CLOSED DOORS.

If you can't trust yourself, who can you trust?

Cass is having a hard time since the night she saw the car in the woods. It was on the winding rural road, in the middle of a downpour, and a woman was sitting inside--the woman who was killed. She's been trying to put the crime out of her mind; what could she have done, really? It's a dangerous road to be on in the middle of a storm, and she probably would have been hurt herself if she'd stopped. Not only that, her husband would be furious if he knew she'd broken her promise not to take that shortcut home.

But since then, she's been forgetting every little thing. Where she left the car; if she took her pills; even the alarm code.

The only thing she can't forget is that woman, the woman she might have saved, and the terrible nagging guilt.

And the silent calls she's receiving, or the feeling that someone's watching her...

You won't be able to put down B. A. Paris's The Breakdown, the next chilling, propulsive novel from the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Behind Closed Doors.

Double-edged sword

I was halfway through the book before I caught on to the title. You're one sly fox, B. A. Paris! The confluence of circumstances in this story is like that wreck you can't look away from. Nicely done.

Decent

This book was ok, but definitely not what I was expecting. It kept my interest, however it was very repetitive.

You can’t always trust your heart

B.A. Paris did good with this one. This book kept me interested from the beginning. The Breakdown is well worth the read. I’m looking for more of B.A. Paris’ work. Do Not Quit Writing!

Repetitivenessin the middle but...

I thought it would be as good as Behind Closed Doors; however, this book's repetiveness was exasperating - too much. If she had shortened the middle & not had so much of the same situations repeated it would have been much better.

Excellent

Excellent book! 2nd by this author that I have read, and I loved them both.

Very good

I couldn't put it down! Very good & of course just when you think you have it figured out--pow! Great read!

Breakdown was hard to put down

I liked the tension. I liked not being able to correctly predict "who done it". I became tired of some of the activity - very repetitive language. I understand this can be effective in building tension, I feel it was overdone.

Not as good as I expected

The book was just ok. It didn’t get me excited to come home and read like behind closed doors did. Those were huge shoes to fill! Will definitely be reading more by this author though!!

Read it!

I love any books by B.A.Paris and this one did not disappoint! The book kept having new turns and you had no idea what was to come, I love when books do that, I highly recommend reading this one!
