Belle Herman is destined for better things. At least, that is what her mother always tells her. When the local matrimonial agency matches her with a wealthy rancher in Colorado, she sets her sights on the future and says a fond goodbye to her past. But the adventure doesn't exactly go as planned... From the start, William Jones isn't quite what she expected. There's some confusion about his story, and she's not sure what to think when she catches him in a lie. But he's well-to-do, as promised, and gives her explanations that seem reasonable enough. If only she could understand why he's lying to his parents about why she's there - and if only she could keep her mind off his kind, gentle younger brother, who also seems to know more than he's letting on. Belle knows her future is fixed. But there's an old saying about the best laid plans of mice, men, and Mail Order Brides...
