The story flows like prairie grass in the wind. The best of what children’s books can be!

This book is beautifully written and illustrated for children, and it also provides an easily understandable history of how the buffalo almost disappeared from the plains and how that event was interconnected with the Indians, the “dust bowl”, and how the buffalo were brought back. I highly recommend!
