The Calling starts out with a bang and does not quit. It is filled with action, intrigue, and suspense but there is much more to this story than you would think. This book really got me thinking. I loved it!

Jacob Israel is a truly gifted writer who has the ability to weave a story and keep the reader captivated! The plot was amazing and kept me guessing on what would happen next. What I really liked about the book was the deeper meaning of good vs. evil and the ability to lift the veil to show the real face of evil. I couldn't book the book down and when I did, I couldn't wait to get back to it. A great read!

Having worked with Jacob ISrael on other writing projects, I assumed that The Calling would be a great book. However, it exceeded my expectations. The chapters dealing with Thomas' childhood really hit home for me. The fact that he was different than everyone else and snubbed at every turn can be felt by anyone. This book should, and hopefully will, be made into a movie. I am proud to call Jacob Israel my friend and my brother in Christ. Congratulations, man.

I LOVED IT!!!! I can't even begin to express the magnitude of the impact of what you've written. It is awesome. I totally couldn't put it down and that's exactly what I expect out of a book. To me, it's just so great to have the base that it has; and then to put in end times along with it just rocks my world! The story is great, the way it is written is great; it flows real well - I had no trouble moving right along. The twists and turns are awesome, the emotions it causes in the reader are fantastic and it absolutely gets better and better. It's one of those great books where you end a chapter and can't NOT go to the next chapter. It's got that pull; it just rocks. What's next?

The Calling grabbed my attention from its very first sentence. It is a vivid, multi-layered story that will enthrall any reader no matter what their religious leaning. This new author has an extraordinary story-telling gift and I would highly recommend this book to anyone. I also look forward to reading more from Mr. Israel.
