Wanting a baby more than anything, Dan and Laura Fielding agree to put Laura through a new form of hormonal therapy, but when the aspiring mom enters Dr. Norman Chyles's clinic, she is horrified by... This description may be from another edition of this product.
The basic premise of the book was highly creative, topical, and rather eerily plausible. I found myself less convinced by the antagonists' motivation. The main character is a likeable lady with the ever-compelling biological imperative of motherhood, but the idea of a big fat pregnant lady running around in her third trimester and snooping quietly around the evil sub-basements of a fertility clinic was a bit of a strain on my disbelief-suspending machinery. I knocked off one star for this implausible behavior on the part of a pregnant woman, but it's just my opinion, really, and no reflection on the overall worth of the book. It's suspenseful, interesting, and even though I resent the author for being successful in his creative endeavors when I myself have failed miserably throughout my life, I recommend it for anybody who is considering in vitro fertilization....

Good book. However, the ending makes you angry because you want the story to continue so we can learn which baby she had and how the other women dealt with their own child.
Highly Enjoyable

I'd like to say that i finished this book in one day. I found it spellbinding and exiting. It is very well written. I passed it on to all of my friends, and they enjoyed it greatly as well. It was the first medical thriller I'd ever read, and because the author has not written any other books, I turned to such authors as Robin Cook and Michael Palmer. The writing style is very similar. Fans of Cook and Palmer will enjoy The Clinic.
