Eye-opening book

This is a good eye-opening book about the correct eating lifestyle to help you lose weight and maintain a healthy body. It explains how the low-glycemic effect works, and what you need to do. You will need to plan your trip to the grocery store to get the correct items you will need to follow the recipes. Only about 1/3 of the recipes were anything I'd want to make, and I'm not a picky eater. I went thru the book and put foil stars on the recipes I wanted to make, or did make to simplify things. The only thing that was not in there was the "glycemic load factor" list for many other foods that you might eat along with the actual recipe you prepared; for instance a peanut butter sandwich to help fill you up, along with the hard-boiled egg and piece of fruit. Makes the load factor a guess, and since you need to keep count during the day, just like calories, you don't know how much to add. So, be committed, if you're going to try this lifestyle change.

You'll forget these are healthy good-for-you recipes, they taste so good and offer so much variety. Check out the Pecan-Crusted French Toast, Pomegranate Flank Steak, and Flourless Cherry Chip Cookies. These bring a new level of succulent food to the table of anyone who wants to lose weight or eat for health as well as for those who love great food. The authors satisfied my sweet tooth yet avoided using artificial sweeteners. I'll cook these recipes for my family and for guests, too.
