The Cow That Went OINK is a giggle-inspiring picture book that also has a gentle message about respecting differences.A cow that oinks and a pig that moos are teased by the other barnyard animals... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I read this book many times and recommended it as a Children's Librarian. This book is great for the young and the young and heart. I will never tire of this book. Bernard Most captures the way humans can act to someone who has just one thing different from his or her peers through the animals. The book shows that everyone may not be alike, but is to be accepted. This is great how the cow becomes friends with a pig that has a similiar problem to his own. This is a great book, especially for Toddlers.
My daughter absolutely *loves* this book

My wife stumbled upon Bernard Most's books at a Zany Brainy store closing sale. She bought "Oink Ha!" and our daughter (2 years old) loved it. So from the description of this book, I bought it for her. It has now become her favorite book! She thinks it's funny for a cow to oink and a pig to moo! And she loves the sounds they both make while learing to moo/oink (oinomoo, moink! ;0).Bernard Most really has our daughter's number. He's a favorite around our house.

From a parent and kindergarten teacher's perspective, this is a fantastic book. It is one of our family's favorites. We laugh throughout the book each time we read it. Bernard Most's simple and clever use of language and illustrations makes it a classic to read over and over. I have recommended this book to many parents and teachers. It is also a wonderful book for pre and emergent readers to read with adults.
GREAT BOOK FOR BILINGUAL CHILDREN
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 24 years ago
Bernard Most has a great way of getting his message across in a very simple way. A cow says "oink" and is made fun of by other cows. He looks the same as the other cows but his language is different. Then comes a pig that says "moo"; the other pigs make fun of him. The cow and pig end up together and teach their "language" to each other. The two truly become bilingual! A nice book to help children NOT make fun of those who speak a different language. They can truly learn from each other.
Excellent therapy tool for speech/language pathology!

This book covers all the bases for a teacher or speech/language pathologist: peer acceptance, team work, perseverance, pragmatics, sequencing, and play on words! I love it! I have used it with K-2 using felt characters to act out the story and the kids love it! Some of them get very pensive as if they are all too familiar with the character's struggles. My only complaint is the ending. I am careful to explain or minimize the ending because I didn't like that they laughed back at the other animals.
