I had read 2 of her other books, "Mrs. Poe" and "Twain's End" & liked them so I ordered this one. I seriously only finished it to finish it. The historical details were interesting but I was never pulled into the characters except for Sofie's life. There were too many "Don's" to keep track of who was who. Some scenarios made me feel like I had skipped a sentence or two because they moved on before the scene seemed complete to me. I think, had I read this book first that I probably wouldn't have purchased another by this author.
