For her own amusement Big Momma Turnyipp curses whoever touched her friend's fur coat - without knowing it was Merk McNeap (who shoved it out of sight when he saw it left in an unlocked car). The result is that he grows fur on his palms and soles.
The Lundys, a trio of crazies, decide they are supposed to sacrifice Big Momma to the deity they call Lundy and set off to do so. Merk decides he must save her to get the spell on him removed. His girlfriend Laura Lee helps him by learning about spell and their loopholes.
Even when captured and about to be killed by the Lundys in an empty boxcar, Big Momma won't act sensibly and cooperate so Merk tries to trick the Lundys and redirect their actions onto something else silly but safe.
Then he will try to casts a permanent spell he learned via Laura Lee on Big Momma that should reverses any curses she tries to cast on him back onto her. Thus, unless he releases her, Big Momma's days of imposing curse spells should be over.
