Fueled by crystal meth, a ragtag group of genocidal terrorists take over a European country, and then take control of its air force, destroying everything in their path. They are led by two megalomaniacs, a failed art student and his sidekick, who both take daily injections of cocaine and morphine. England is the last country left standing. (The year was 1940, the group of terrorists was the Nazi party. The failed art student was Adolf Hitler, and his sidekick was Hermann Goering. They both had historically-documented drug problems, and the Blitzkrieg was fueled by Pervitin, a powerful methamphetamine that was taken by soldiers as well as pilots.) Eric Wallace is an RAF pilot who is fighting in the Battle of Britain. The Summer of 1940 begins with merchant seamen joining the Royal Navy to escort soldiers from France across the English Channel under a hail of bombs and gunfire. Hermann Goering is the leader of the German Air Force, who has helped to guide the Blitzkrieg and ruthlessly subjugate Europe. Goering is hungry to see the Royal Air Force destroyed, but he is overconfident, and high on morphine, from an injury in the previous war. Edith is a ferry pilot for the RAF, and delivers a Spitfire to Eric, who is smitten by her feisty defiance of Hitler and the Luftwaffe. Together they play their part in a desperate struggle to keep England free.
