The Dawning of Power

I stopped reading as a teenager and I can't remember why. I lost power and internet due to hurricane Irma for about a week but this book kept me sane through it all. I had forgotten how much I loved reading. I am really glad I gave this book a chance instead of picking something up off the best sellers list at the book store. All I can say is, give Brian a chance. I can tell the emotion and hard work that went into this book and he really deserves better recognition for it. This is a completely unbiased review. I met Brian at Dragoncon in 2014 and he just walked right up to me and handed me this book. (The cover on mine is very different so I am guessing it was the first edition?) I promised him I would read it and it sat on my shelf for 3 years... (I am not proud of that) Well, you know what? I am really glad I decided to finally pick it up. As soon as I started reading it, I could not put it down. I finished the whole book in about 5 days and I plan to spend my money buying the rest of this series. I loved the character development of this book and the overall appeal of it. However, what I am the most happy about, is that I gave a budding author my undivided attention while reading a tangible book for the first time in 10 or so yrs. The Dawning of Power made me fall in love with reading again. The fact that it made me rediscover my long lost hobby after so many years means I will never forget it. I will always love and cherish this book as the one that made me a bookworm again.
