Sometimes life can be like a bad movie. You sit through it, hoping it will get better, suspecting that it won't and wondering at what point you can reasonably walk out...Kit Audrey Butler is the... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This book was first published in 1999 under its original title of "B Movies, Blue Love". I think the original title says a lot more about the plot than the newly re-hashed title. It is a good read, full of self-deprecating humour about a woman, Kit, in her early 30's who aspires to be an award winning Oscar screenwriter. She writes screenplay part time. During the day, she supports herself with a job as a cinema manager that screens B movies. She is quite an underdog cos you see her being dumped first by her boyfriend, then she gets plenty of rejects from artist agencies to whom she sends her screenplays to. The writing style is a mix of screenwriter lingo melding into daydreaming sequence of the protagonist, Kit, melding into reality. What makes this book ironic is that Kit's dreams of being an Oscan screenwriter is played out in a parallel scene fronted by a film producer in Los Angeles who is keen to push Kit's script to the big gun production companies unbeknown to her. However, there is just one snag. Read it to find out cos its funny!
