Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin (W.i.t.c.h.) are five ordinary friends with an extraordinary secret: they each have the power to control a natural element-air, water, fire, earth, and finally, the mysterious "Heart of Candracar." The girls use their powers to guard against evil and to uncover the truth behind mysterious portals leading to other worlds. Between school, family, and a new interest in boys, these girls had enough to worry about! But now they have the secret to turn into a group of friends with special powers . . . destined to fight the evil Prince Phobos in the magic world of Metamoor. W.i.t.c.h. combines fashion and fantasy, magic and middle school, heroism and humor, friendship and family, teamwork and transformation, in a wholesome mix proven to charm the tween girl market. Introducing a hybrid format that combines four-color comics with a traditional chapter book format.
This is the second book in this series. It was just as good as the first. It is mostly about Irma and Hay Lin. In the start, Hay Lin's grandmother is sick and she dies. Irma also turned a boy into a frog, but her friends think that is funny. The girls keep seeing their friend Elyon, who disappeared earlier. They think she is a ghost because she keeps going through walls. Finally they go to Elyon's house. Elyon leads them to the basement and traps Hay Lin behind a brick wall. She also makes other wallsn attack Will, Irma, Taranee, and Cornelia. The girls transforem again in this book. It is the first time for Cornelia and Taranee. W.i.t.c.h. is a pretty good series, but sometimes the girls are mean to each other. I don't mean Cornelia and Irma's little fights, in book 1 they were punishing Elyon for flunking her math test. In this book they laughed at Irma when she finally told them she turned the boy into a frog. They are nicer in this one, anyway. There are also comic inserts in the front and back from the W.i.t.c.h. comic books. They are slightly different from the chapter book part and are available in books with only comics. I would recomend this book to most people unless you don't think you would like the parts where they laugh at Irma.
AWSOME!

THIS BOOK WAS AWSOME! IT WAS FUN, BUT SAD BECAUSE HAY LIN'S GRANGMA DIES. ELYON HAS COMPLETELY VANISHED EXCEPT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BOOK W.I.T.C.H. SAW ELYON WALK RIGHT THROUGH THE WALL! THIS BOOK WAS ON THE COMIC ,"THE TWELVE PORTALS".IT HAS BEEN ONE MY FAVORITES! I REALLY THINK YOU SHOULD READ IT!
Almost Better Than the First!!!!

Wow! This book series keeps blowing me away! This book might even be better than the first. This one has more of a story. Elyon's gone and Hay Lin's grandmother (the one who told them of their powers) is sick. Meanwhile, each girl is trying to figure out what all of her powers mean. They are trying to defend themselves from the unknown. It is a very interesting book and I hope the others will be just as good as the first two were.
W.I.T.C.H The Dissappearance

W.i.t.c.h The disapearance This book is about five girls who are sort of fairies & fight evil monsters from Metamoor. Their names are Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, and Hay Lin, which stands for W.I.T.C.H.They are all best friends and go to the same school. Sadly Hay Lin's grandma dies but before she died she gave Hay Lin a map that shows where all the portals are. As for the girls more and more bad news comes from Irma. The girls find out that Irma turned her crush into a toad, accidentally. Before they try to solve that problem the girls check out Elyon's house for clues on her disappearance. They soon find out that Elyon has gone over to the enemies' side. Elyon traps them in a wicked tunnle and tries to kill them but Will makes them transform. The four girls on Will's side of the wall transformed but Hay Lin who was on the other side didn't transform into a magical being like the rest of the girls. When they escape they move on to Irma's problem. They find the boy and change him back to the way he was.
Finally a book series everyone will love!

I have reviewed the first book and plan to review all of them. Book 2 picks up at about where book 1 leaves off. I found this book to be funnier and more enjoyable then even the first one. I love the idea of putting in comic book beginnings and ends. The books are marketed towards girl but boys have also fallen for Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Haylin. Some people say these books are "not good or bad", and they're right. THEY'RE AWESOME!!!!!! The books pull you in and put you on a magical ride filled with adventure, mystery, magic and also everyday life. I hope you buy this book for someone you love. I have read the first 6 of 9 that are available and this one holds a special place. It's very funny and I love the series and you will too. Some reviewers need to open thier eyes and enjoy them for what they are, A pre-teen to teen book. Happy Reading
