Celebrating a rite of passage for many into adult life, this hilarious book offers tongue-in-cheek observations on making life choices for recent college graduates, their friends and families, and anyone who faces the bewildering question, "What do I want to do with my life?" The father-son writing team offers comical commentary and realistic advice on getting a job, choosing a career path, making decisions about living at home or in an apartment, and, above all, crafting an impressive personal update for the alumni magazine. Suggestions address common transitional challenges such as faking a go-getter attitude and determining who will really give a good letter of recommendation.
This is the perfect graduation gift for your nephew or cousin or whatever. Great reading on the can, too. Lots of chuckles.
The Dog Ate My Resumé: Survival Tips for Life after College

The Dog Ate My Resumé is hilarious spoof on life after college. The book sarcastically answers questions and provides satirical tips on majors, graduation, career options, job interviews, graduate school, and living arrangements. The book contains such chapters as Winning Interview Techniques: Developing a Go-Getter Attitude, or at Least Faking One and Navigating and Guiding Your Family Discussions About What You Will Do After College, Including Good Answers to the Big Question- Truthful and Otherwise. All of these chapters are witty. A few of these chapters even provide useful tips, between the lines and beyond the sarcasm. The Dog Ate my Resumé is aimed at new college graduates and their parents. No doubt those who are still in college and those who have gone through the process will think this book is extremely funny, the former not fully understanding the hidden truths in this book and the latter having survived the out of school crisis. It is important to emphasize that this book is a spoof, meant to lighten the heaviness of graduating, finding yourself, and getting a real job.

Great reading on the unemployment line! Your caseworker will think you're sincere, and you won't have entirely wasted your time looking for a job you know isn't out there anyway--it's moved to Bangladesh! But seriously, this book is anything but. It's a howl from first to last and if you take its advice, you may not survive for long after college, but you'll have a great time while it lasts.
