Passionate 80's romance.

This is one of those passionate intense romances where you just have to suspend belief and let yourself go... Shelby Marlowe is alone and needs help - she's bought a rare artifact and people want it back. When her life is too threatened, Grant Macklin steps in. He considers himself a loner and is wary of her (perhaps excessively so, but she doesn't do herself any favors, her explanations are vague to say the least) However their adventures take them to Japan and they fall passionately in love. The ending is sweetly romantic and you are happy to be part of their HEA.
