The series is based on the premise that the myths from the world's earliest civilizations were in fact recollections of actual events and that the gods of ancient peoples were visitors to Earth from another planet--the Anunnaki, inhabitants of the 12th planet. The series' books include The 12th Planet, The Stairway to Heaven, The Wars of Gods and Men, The Lost Realms, When Time Began, The Cosmic Code , and The End of Days , all products of the author's unmatched study of the ancient records of Sumer, Babylonia, Assyria, Israel, and Egypt and the civilizations of pre-Columbian America. Unearthing the hidden history of Earth and mankind, the series uses the past to unveil the meaning of the prophesied future. Zecharia Sitchin has created an encyclopedic compendium of the key figures, sites, concepts, and beliefs to provide a unique navigational tool through this entire opus. Entries are coded to indicate at a glance their cultural origin and contain summations, commentaries, and guidance for locating the topics within all of his books, including Genesis Revisited, Divine Encounters, The Lost Book of Enki, The Earth Chronicles Expeditions , and Journeys to the Mythical Past .
The Earth Chronicles Handbook: A Comprehensive Guide to the Seven Books of The Earth Chronicles By Zecharia Sitchin ISBN 1-59143-101-8 (Bear and Company, 2009) Anyone who has read The Earth Chronicles or is about to will find Zecharia's handbook an invaluable tool. This handbook has also helped to set the chronology of the events in pre-Sumerian history in order. For anyone just getting started on Zecharia's work, I suggest reading 12th Planet and Genesis Revisited and keeping this handbook close. For those interested in facts, this is a must for anyone wanting to get to the bottom of our human history. Rahasya Poe, Lotus Guide magazine [...]

Reviewed by Irene Watson for Reader Views (7/09) Have you heard of "The 12th Planet?" If you have, you will find this book a must-have addition to what you know already. If you haven't, then be ready to embark on information that will blow your mind. Zecharia Sitchin, a biblical scholar and Orientalist, is known to have the ability to read ancient clay tablets, Sumerian, and Akkadian. He has also written a series of books about the secreted history of mankind, as well as companion books and autobiographical encounters. In "The Earth Chronicles Handbook" Sitchin renders information gained through years of research and study. The book is indeed a handbook, starting with the alphabet "A" and concludes with "Z." Each section gives entries, e.g. Anshan, Hipparchus, Mari, and so on. The concise but detailed definition follows, e.g. Pa.bil (= `The Defender'): The Sumerian name for the zodiacal constellation we call Sagittarius (= `The Archer'). This handbook, more so like an encyclopedia, defines places, names, theories, and acts as a guide for locating topics in the other books. Although the handbook is meant to accompany Sitchin's other publications, it could also stand alone for study or research. For me, "The Earth Chronicles Handbook" was an interesting perusal. Being interested in ancient religions and the history of mankind, I enjoyed flipping through the pages and learning so much of what I didn't know. Well documented, easy to read, and written for the lay-person, Stichin gives us the glimpse into the past, and gives direction for us create our own prophesies of the future. "The Earth Chronicles Handbook" will certainly have you saying "aha" on many occasions.

Wonderful book! Will the 8th planet visit Earth again? How can we learn from history to avoid the hard lessons of the future? Sitchin is a credidble investigator. To consolidate 2300 pages down to 231 is quite a feat!
Another master piece

Sitchin has done it again. Just when you think he has written his last book, he is able to put together an overall view encompassing much of his work.
