I just started reading this book for my IR class. It is very easy to read. I find this book to be based in some good research and work, while being accessable, unlike other IR books, which are almost as bad as pulling teeth until you become acquainted with the prose. I like this book a great deal, even though I haven't finished it. It is ripe with some great information and analysis. I would suggest it to further acquaint yourself with IR, but not as an introductory book to the IR field.
