A fun locked room thriller

Once inside the elevator, they find themselves trapped in a dangerous game of survival instead. Forced to work together despite their rivalries, they must solve cryptic clues to escape. As the game reveals their darkest secrets and past misdeeds, they face a final chilling puzzle: who among them will kill to survive?

Overall, I give this novel four out of five stars. The plot and storytelling are well done, though the pace occasionally feels slow. The dual point of view between the main character and the escape room situation is interesting; I enjoyed the main character's perspective and their significant character development, but the escape room narrative sometimes felt monotonous, with flat characters that didn't evolve much. Despite this, Megan Goldin's writing style is fantastic, crafting a gripping and original thriller with a surprising twist at the end. If you're a fan of Megan Goldin, I highly recommend this excellent and somewhat addictive thriller.

Maybe I'm just really good at guessing twists in thrillers after reading so many, but I was able to immediately guess who was behind it all. Regardless, I had such an enjoyable time reading this book and going on the journey of seeing it all play out.
